Audi A4 Overview
The Audi A4 has been one of those “love it” or “hate it” models for some time, thanks to its conservative body style and rather mundane updates over the years. For 2016, Audi brought the fifth-generation A4 into showrooms, and as expected, it’s more of a facelift than the evolution we hoped for. Highlights of the new-gen model include a more defined grille with sharper points, larger and more aggressive corner air intakes, new layout for the headlight and taillight lenses, and is slightly larger over its predecessor. Inside, the car took on more gracious changes that include a cleaner dash and center stack, standard LED lighting, lightweight seats, a new MMI infotainment system with 4G LTE connectivity, and Audi’s virtual cockpit sitting behind the steering wheel. In the drivetrain department, the A4 got a range of updated engines that range in output from 148 to 268 horsepower. Apply car loan for Audi A4
Audi A4 Design & Look
The new generation A4 might not look very different compared to the older car, but make no mistake since Audi has made many significant changes to the sedan and it is a whole new product underneath. The exteriors of the A4 have clean lines and the usual Audi styling is apparent. The front features sharp headlamps with uniquely-styled DRLs along with the imposing Audi grille. The side profile is neat but I really wish the automaker provided better-looking alloy wheels. The rear again has a premium appeal to it but what catches the eye are the dynamic turn indicators which look simply beautiful. The diesel variant comes with a dual exhaust setup, unlike the petrol trims.
Audi A4 Cabin & Comfort
The new Q7 had set a new benchmark for interiors. The same design has flown into the 2017 Audi A4 as well. The air-con vents extend from the centre console to the co-driver’s door. A large screen is placed above and simple AC controls underneath it. There is a gear knob too, which resembles the Q7. The cabin feels plush and spacious. Then there is the MMI system with its bells and whistles. The quality is at par with other Audi products.
New Audi A4 screenNow, the space? The front row was never a problem. It has always had good knee room and head room even for tall passengers. However, the increase in length of the 2017 Audi A4 means there is more room at the back. Now, tall people can sit comfortably even at the back. The space for the rear passengers isn’t just good but even the seats are highly supportive. They are hard and have a good recline, making it comfortable for long distance trips. Only two people can sit at the back, as the central tunnel intrudes into the space. This is just want Mercedes-Benz has done to the C-Class. The boot space too is larger than before on the 2017 Audi A4.
Audi A4 Engine & Transmission
the A4 will get both a petrol and a diesel engine. The 1.8-litre engine will be replaced by a new and more powerful 2.0-litre that makes 190PS of peak power and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox and will be available only in a front wheel drive layout. But as always, the diesel will be the more popular one and in this department, Audi does have a few surprises planned. For starters, Audi might bring in a manual gearbox in the A4 for the first time. The manual gearbox will be the base version and will be mated to the 2.0-litre TDI engine that will make 190PS of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. This engine will also get a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox as an automatic option and will also be mated to a front wheel drive platform. For more details on Audi A4 check Kazembassy
The one we got the chance to spend a day blasting around the legendary derestricted Autobahn though was the all-wheel-drive Quattro equipped 3.0-litre turbocharged V6. The firebreather of a diesel motor makes 272PS of peak power and 600Nm of peak torque which would make it the most power diesel in its class if Audi launched it in our country. And from what we hear, this will be the most powerful A4 variant in India till the S4 and RS4 make it to India. So, how does it drive. Well, as expected, the power comes on really strong and before you know it, you are on the right side of 200kmph (which is legal on the Autobahn) and on the way to a restricted top speed of 250kmph. The gearbox especially makes a world of a difference and as expected, the dual clutch setup is lightening fast.
Audi A4 Driving & Dynamics
Audi A4 sedan provides superior road handling and driving comfort. The latest model of the car comes with a unique Drive Select technology, which enables the driver to choose from ‘Comfort’ and ‘Dynamic’ drive modes, by operating buttons located on the instrument panel. The dynamic suspension system, with upper and lower wishbones; tubular anti-roll bar in the front and Independent, trapezoidal link, anti roll bar in the rear are specifically designed for agile handling, so that you can take bends with ease.
Audi A4 Braking & Security
New generation safety equipments have been installed in the latest model of Audi A4. The car comes with Electronic Stability Program, with traction control and Antilock Braking System, to ensure that the driver acquires full control over the vehicle during emergencies. Apart from this, the car features dual stage front airbags, side and curtain airbags, to protect the passengers from the impact of collision in the event of accidents. Contributing to its amazing safety is the Servotronic speed-sensitive power assisted steering wheel.

Audi A4 Round Up
The new A4 might not be a huge step forward design-wise, but considering that the conservative approach has worked well for Audi in recent years, I don’t see why it won’t continue to bring masses of customers into dealerships. The interior is where this new car really shines, as the previous model was a bit long in the tooth, especially when compared to its main rivals. With significantly more powerful and fuel-efficient engines under the hood, the A4 has everything it needs to take up from where its predecessor left off and continue as one of the best-selling premium compacts in the U.S. The only downside here is that we still won’t get the Avant on these shores.
