Toyota Etios Overview
Toyota is one of the most celebrated badges in automotive industry. The Japanese automaker is headquartered in the city of Toyota in Japan and is the largest listed company in Japan in terms of market capitalization. Etios literally means Spirit and Principle, and it has been a Toyota principle to put in a lot of spirit in all its cars. Keeping that up, the Bangaluru-based Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. unveiled the sedan at the 2010 Auto Expo in Delhi. The stunner captured hearts in a moment and the spree continues. To keep the price of the sedan in the affordable bracket, Toyota has used only domestic parts in Etios. It is opulence and functionality in the guise of an automobile, and is pretty light on the wallet. Priced between 5.54 L and 8.30 L, Etios comes in six colours – Classic Grey, White, Symphony Silver, Harmony Beige, Celestial Black and Vermilion Red. Toyota Platinum Etios was originally called the Entry Family Car (EFC). Check for Toyota Etios price in Bangalore at Tryaldrive.

Toyota Etios Style
Compared to the outgoing model, the new Toyota Etios Platinum do pose an appealing stance. Updates can be seen at the front with the new wider bumper and revised grille to give a touch of sportiness. The carmaker hasn’t gone extreme when it comes to using chrome appliques. The use of carbon-fibre texture, in fact, looks really nice on the front bumper. The v-shaped grille is mounted high with black inserts and the chrome studded signature mark at the centre looks cool. The rounded fog lamps now get boomerang styled highlighted enclosure.
The side profile of Etios largely remains intact except the new set of alloys and the same thick protruding strip running in the middle. The rear end of the car feature new bumper and thick chrome slat with red reflectors on the boot lid connecting the two tail lamps. Overall, the changes are subtle but do provide a bit of youthful touch to the car.
Toyota Etios Space
Moving inside, you still get the odd-looking dashboard from the older car. However, what you also get is a completely redesigned instrument cluster which looks far better than the older one. However, it is still placed in the centre. The texture of the seat fabric has also been given a change. The seats of the Etios are large and comfortable while space and storage areas in the cabin are also found in abundance. Some noteworthy features include electrically folding ORVMs, standard ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts at the rear, and a three point seat belt for even the fifth passenger. You also get an 2-DIN audio system with decent quality speakers. The AC does its job well most of the times but on a really hot day, I found it struggling to chill the cabin.

The Toyota Etios is actually a very practical car which is also comfortable and efficient. It doesn’t fetch good sales with private buyers mainly due to its quirky-looking exteriors and interiors. While the exteriors have been redesigned mildly now, the interior still has the same layout. However, the Etios now feels more appealing than before and that should positively help Toyota generate some more sales.
